WAYNE COUNTY, NC (WITN) - An Eastern Carolina woman is behind bars, accused in a child rape case.
Wayne County deputies Thursday arrested 26-year-old Jessica Uzzell, of Goldsboro.
She is charged with first degree statutory rape and first degree statutory sex offense.
Deputies say they recently received a report of a sexual assault in 2016 involving a boy who was 15 years old at the time.
The statutory rape happened at the woman's home and deputies say she and the victim knew each other.
Uzzell has a $750,000 bond.
The woman is still awaiting trial for a 2017 shooting in Goldsboro where a home with two people and a two-year-old child inside was hit by gunfire.
