Wastewater spill in Havelock, cause unknown

HAVELOCK, N.C. (WITN) - About two thousand gallons of untreated wastewater spilled in the city of Havelock at Pine Street on Monday.

The wastewater flowed into Joe's Branch, which goes into Slocum Creek in the Neuse River Basin.

City leaders notified the State Department of Environmental Quality Water Resources Division.

The cause of the spill has not been released yet.
