WITN's Teacher of the Week for November 13 is Katherine Stroud from A.G. Cox Middle School.

Stroud has spent the last six years teaching eighth grade math and working as a facilitating teacher for Pitt County Schools.

She earned her bachelor’s degree in Middle Grades Education with concentrations in science and math from ECU. She completed an internship at A.G. Cox Middle School while in college before joining the Raider family full-time.

The person who nominated Stroud wrote: “Mrs. Stroud is unbelievable. She has only been teaching for six years, but, if you stepped in her classroom, you would think that she has been teaching for 25-30 years. I am in an advanced math class, and I was struggling a lot. I had a 57 in that class. She helped me so much, it was unbelievable. I now have an 81. I cannot thank Mrs. Stroud enough, for her hard work and dedication to all of her students.”

Congratulations, Mrs. Stroud!

Every week during the school year WITN will recognize a Teacher of the Week on WITN News at Sunrise. The winner receives a plaque and $100 gift card for school supplies.
