WITN’S Teacher of the Week: Timothy Longest from Sam D Bundy in Pitt County
WITN's Teacher of the Week for February 6 is Timothy Longest from Sam D. Bundy in Pitt County.
Longest teaches fifth grade social students and ELA at Sam D Bundy in Farmville.
The person who nominated Mr. Longest wrote: “To say that Mr. Longest is amazing would be an understatement. He is bold and relentless in pursuing greatness in his students. He demands that each of them live up to their potential, yet he does this in such a selfless way that I'm not even sure he realizes he's doing it. He is kind, compassionate, understanding and treats every student equally. Mr. Longest has inspired my daughter on so many levels. she has a desire to be a better person, student and friend simply because of him. She could ramble for hours about what makes him the best teacher in the world. Personally, Mr. Longest has taught me that heroes don't always wear capes, sometimes they come disguised in khaki pants, glasses and the warmest smile you will ever meet.”
Congratulations Mr. Longest!
Every week during the school year WITN will recognize a Teacher of the Week on WITN News at Sunrise. The winner receives a plaque and $100 Walmart gift card. To nominate your teacher, email TOTW@witn.com.
