WITN's Teacher of the Week for October 23 is Krista May VanVooren from Sam D. Bundy Elementary in Farmville in Pitt County.
VanVooren is in her second year of teaching and is a Special Education teacher. VanVooren also went to school in Pitt County is proud to be teaching here. In addition to teaching, she works for the Autism Society in Greenville.
“I dedicate my life to working with children and adults with special needs and love every moment!” VanVooren writes. She recently got married and says she adores her fur babies.
VanVooren received multiple nominations. One of the letters said: Her students are always excited to learn and try new things because of her! Whenever she’s out and runs into one of her students, they give her the biggest hug. 24/7 she is constantly looking for new ways to help and teach her kids! Not ONLY is she a teacher of great care and student driven success, she works at Autism Society of North Carolina teaching and helping kids inside and out of the classroom! Any student and person she comes face to face with loves her for her personality and dedication to help others! I can’t say that I have been more proud of any teacher ever like I can about Krista VanVooren!
Congratulations Mrs. VanVooren!
