Mrs. Soistman is in her seventh year of teaching. She began her career teaching 4th grade and is currently in her second year of teaching 2nd grade at Bath Elementary School. Mrs. Soistman has lived in Washington for 3.5 years, where she and her husband, Ben Soistman stay busy with their two sons, ages 4 years and 8 months.
The person who nominated Mrs. Soistman wrote: “She is a very interactive teacher always going the extra mile to grab the attention of students. She uses many different ways of doing so--whether it be for ELA and dressing up as the characters in the book they are reading (three little pigs), transforming her room into a thunderstorm and dressing the part to greet her friends as they arrive (science), to transforming her room to the American West and dressing the part (Social Studies). She makes learning FUN, and it’s contagious!”
Congratulations Mrs. Soistman!
Every week during the school year WITN will recognize a Teacher of the Week on WITN News at Sunrise. The winner receives a plaque and $100 Walmart gift card.
