WITN's Teacher of the Week for January 30 is Angela Lippy from Liberty Christian Academy in Richlands in Onslow County
Lippy was born in Baltimore, MD. She has a Bachelor of Science in Liberal Arts and Information Technology from Stevenson University in MD, and a Master of Education in Teaching and Learning Elementary Education from Liberty University. Mrs. Lippy began her career as a Pre-K teacher and has since moved to fifth grade. She is in her third-year teaching at Liberty Christian Academy in Richlands, NC.
Lippy says she loves children of all ages and has found her calling as a teacher to be rewarding beyond measure. She is married to an active duty Marine; she and her husband Jeff have four beautiful and kind-hearted children.
The person who nominated Mrs. Lippy wrote: “Mrs. Lippy is an amazing teacher that is truly dedicated to the care and welfare of her students. During Florence she personally called our home to check on my student and family. She personally sent emails to her students asking if there was anything they needed that she might be able to help with even though her own home had suffered damage. She even takes her personal time out to come to my car and discuss my child’s progress. I don’t believe you will find a more dedicated or concerned teacher that will teach and care for your child than Mrs. Lippy. She is truly amazing!”
Congratulations Mrs. Lippy!
Every week during the school year WITN will recognize a Teacher of the Week on WITN News at Sunrise. The winner receives a plaque and $100 Walmart gift card. To nominate your teacher, email TOTW@witn.com.
