WITN's Teacher of the Week for May 29 is Kristin Stroud of Moss Hill Elementary in Lenoir County.

Stroud has taught in Lenoir County Public Schools for 13 years, the last five of which have been at Moss Hill Elementary. She says she started teaching because she wanted to make a difference in the lives of children. “I continue to teach because I now realize the magnitude of my job and the positive impact I can potentially have on so many. I pray that any child that enters my room knows how much they are valued and loved,” Stroud writes.

Stroud is married and has two beautiful children.

The parent who nominated Stroud wrote: “She always helps her kids and makes sure they understand the assignment they have been given. My child states, ‘Mrs. Stroud is so nice. She is always so calm with all the kids and love each one of us. I am so glad that I got Mrs. Stroud this year. She makes learning fun and enjoyable.”

Congratulations, Ms. Stroud!

Every week during the school year WITN will recognize a Teacher of the Week on WITN News at Sunrise. The winner receives a plaque and $100 Walmart gift card.
