WATCH THIS: Crane takes out power lines, traffic lights in Wilmington

Power crews say it could take up to 12 hours to make repairs in a busy intersection after a crane truck took out several utility poles and traffic lights Friday morning in Wilmington.

A driver who just happened to be in the right place at the right time saw the truck coming down the street with its crane extended. Knowing what was about to happen, the man fired up his cell phone camera.

It happened on Military Cutoff Road at one of the city's busiest intersections.

The crane first took out some power lines before hitting overhead traffic lights Falling debris smashed onto one passing car's windshield, according to authorities.

Nearly a dozen crews were called in to repair the damage.

Police say the truck driver was charged with failure to secure a load.
