PITT COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - Volunteers are needed for a meal packing event that helps combat hunger around the world.
Peace Presbyterian Church is partnering withRise Against Hunger, a North Carolina based organization that is focused on feeding those in need.
The church pays 34 cents per meal, brings the supplies, trains the volunteers and then distributes the meals.
Their goal is to pack 22,500 meals from 11 a.m.- 2 p.m. on Monday, January 21.
Due to the growing number of volunteers each year, organizers have moved the event to First Christian Church on 14th Street in Greenville.
