Visitor restrictions are in place for a portion of Vidant Medical Center due to an increase in viral respiratory illnesses in the community.
Children under the age of 12 will not be permitted to visit patients at the James and Connie Maynard Children's Hospital starting Monday, December 4th.
Officials say the restrictions are temporary and will be lifted when the number of viral respiratory illnesses decreases in the community.
The only exception to this temporary restriction is if a healthy child is visiting a healthy newborn sibling and lives in the same household.
