Vidant CEO gets five-year contract extension
The chief executive officer for Eastern Carolina's largest hospital system will be sticking around a while longer.
Vidant Health's board last week extended the contract for Dr. Michael Waldrum for another five years.
The hospital system says Waldrum's contract was going to expire in less than a year, and the decision to offer him another five-year deal was a unanimous decision.
Waldrum is paid $1.2 million annually, and Vidant says there will be no changes in his compensation because of the extension. He came to Vidant in June of 2015.
The hospital system and Pitt County currently are embroiled in a lawsuit with the UNC System and ECU over the makeup of the Vidant Medical Center board of directors.
