WASHINGTON NC, (WITN) It was a festive night Tuesday as a hospital held its annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony.
Vidant Beaufort in Washington held its 34th Annual Lights of Love tree lighting.
The tree has 7,500 lights, each representing donations to remember or celebrate loved ones.
Those donations are then used for programs or equipment at the hospital.
The ceremony also included choir performances by students from Eastern Elementary and the St. John's Church of Christ Men's Choir.
There was an awards ceremony for a kindergarten through fifth grade art contest in Beaufort County Schools, and the moment the kids were waiting for, the arrival of Santa Claus.
