Verizon Wireless says service has returned to normal following a widespread outage.
The cell phone carrier confirmed on its customer service Twitter page that there was a widespread outage on the east coast Tuesday.
Customers reported that they were not able to send or receive text messages.
An outage map shows it affected people as far north as Boston, all the way down to Miami, including customers in North Carolina.
Verizon says if you're still experiencing issues this morning, you should restart your phone.
There's no word on what caused the outage.
