PITT COUNTY, NC (WITN) - Two women are in one Eastern Carolina jail after deputies say they broke into a house Sunday night.
Erica Locklear, of Benson, and Kelly Jo Martin, of Greenville, are both charged with second-degree burglary, and larceny after breaking and/or entering.
Pitt County deputies say around 8:50 p.m. they learned of a breaking and entering in progress at a home on Cedric Drive outside of Farmville.
While they were en route, deputies were told the burglars left in a burgundy Chevy S10 pickup truck. That truck was spotted at Stantonsburg Road and Highway 121 where it was stopped.
Deputies say they found several stolen items from the home and seized meth, along with drug paraphernalia. At the jail they also found a small amount of meth on Martin during her search.
The 32-year-old Martin is also charged with possession of Schedule II controlled substance, possession of controlled substance on premise of prison or local jail, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Martin was given a $45,000 bond, while Locklear's bond was set at $25,000.
