FIRST ON WITN: Man wanted for Ayden nightclub shooting in custody

AYDEN, NC (WITN) - A man wanted for a nightclub shooting is in custody.

Ayden Police Chief Barry Stanley says Quantez Holloway from Greenville was arrested Tuesday morning.

According to Greenville police spokeswoman Kristen Hunter, Holloway was taken into custody at Sunchase apartments with the help of the SBI and other agencies.

Holloway is accused of shooting one person in the arm and another in the leg around 1 a.m. Saturday at Legacy Lounge on Highway 11.

He will face two counts of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, assault by pointing gun, possess firearm by a felon, discharge weapon in city limits, and discharge weapon into an occupied building.

Police have identified a man who they say shot two people over the weekend at an Eastern Carolina nightclub.

Ayden Police Chief Barry Stanley says the shooting happened at Legacy Lounge on Highway 11 around 1 a.m. Saturday.

The chief says one person was shot in the arm and another in the leg. Both were taken to the hospital, but are expected to be okay.

Stanley says they have obtained warrants for Quantez Holloway of Greenville for the shooting. The 26-year-old man will face two counts of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, assault by pointing gun, possess firearm by a felon, discharge weapon in city limits, and discharge weapon into an occupied building.

According to Legacy Lounge's Facebook page, the shooter was identified by surveillance cameras and eyewitness accounts.

The lounge also says they will be making security changes. They say they have hired a new security firm that consists of people with law enforcement backgrounds and improved security measures have been implemented.

The name of those injured have not been released.
