WAYNE COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - Two people are facing charges after the Wayne County Sheriff's Office say they found about half a pound of methamphetamine in their vehicle.
Jessica Roberts, 33, and Mike Castillo, 22, were arrested following a traffic stop along Highway 55 Saturday, according to a press release.
Deputies stopped their vehicle for an equipment violation near Camp Jubilee Road. During the stop, the Sheriff's K9 alerted deputies giving the officers probable cause to search the vehicle, authorities said.
During the search authorities found a little over a half a pound of methamphetamine along with some cash.
Roberts and Castillo were both charged with two counts of trafficking methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Roberts was also charged with felony maintaining a vehicle.
Roberts is being held under a $175,000 bond. Castillo received a $1,000,000 bond because authorities say he is a validated gang member.
