LENOIR COUNTY, NC (WITN) The Lenoir County Sheriff's Office says two people have been arrested and charged following an attack on an 83-year-old La Grange man October 27th.
The victim's home was broken into and he was violently assaulted and had his car stolen.
The car was located in Goldsboro. Detectives were able to identify stolen property and camera footage helped lead them to a suspect.
Wednesday the sheriff's office charged 29-year-old Anthony Dawson of La Grange with attempted murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon, first degree burglary, felony larceny and felony possession of stolen goods.
Dawson was already in the Wayne County Detention Center under other charges. Dawson was served with these new charges and given a $500,000 secured bond.
Detectives also arrested Kayla Massey and charged her with accessory after the fact to attempted murder. She's in the Lenoir County Detention Center under a $65,000 secured bond.
