Two charged after items stolen from storage units

ONSLOW COUNTY (WITN) - Two people are facing charges after items stolen from storage units were found at an Eastern Carolina pawnshop.

Onslow County deputies say several storage units were broken into at Space Place Self Storage on Freedom Parkway back on July 29th.

A week later, deputies say two people were caught on camera trespassing at Semper Fi Storage Rentals on Piney Green Road after the business was closed.

The sheriff's office says Jevelyn Crabb, 31, and Derrick Collins, 28, pawned the property stolen from the storage units at Heath's Pawn and Southern Trade Emporium.

The two are facing several charges including two counts of obtaining property by false pretenses, possession of stolen property and felony conspiracy. Collins is facing additional charges related to the storage units break-ins including first degree trespassing, possession of burglary tools, four counts of breaking and entering, three counts of injury to real property and three counts of larceny after breaking and entering.

Collins was already in the Onslow County Detention Center on unrelated charges. His bond was set at $34,500. Crabb was booked into the detention center and held under a $3,000 bond.

Deputies say more charges are expected in the case. If you have any information that can help the sheriff's office with their investigation, you are asked to contact the Onslow County Sheriff's Office at 910-455-3113 or Crimestoppers at 910-938-3273.
