NEW BERN, N.C. (WITN) - A historic Eastern Carolina city is traveling back in time Saturday.
Tryon Palace in New Bern is hosting a free history day from 9 a.m.- 5 p.m.
The event, called Free Day: Daily Life in Historic New Bern, will teach people what life was like in the city in the 1770's. Organizers will discuss the types of jobs people had, what education was like and what hobbies were popular.
Those in attendance will be able to tour the first floors of the Governor's Palace, kitchen and stable, as well as the historic Stanley House.
Guests will also be able to explore 16 acres of gardens, play historic games and make crafts.
