Subtropical Storm Leslie now becomes the twelfth named storm of the 2018 season. It is expected to meander around its current position over the next 24 hours before heading eastward back towards the Mediterranean Sea.

Tropical Storm Kirk formed off the coast of Sierra Leone Saturday afternoon and will trek westward over the next week. Kirk is the eleventh named storm of the season.

NHC forecasts keep it at tropical storm strength as it crosses the Atlantic over the next week. It is projected to make landfall along the Lesser Antilles by Friday.

Neither Kirk nor Leslie pose a threat to the U.S. over the next eight days. No impacts will be felt in eastern Carolina.
