The worst of the storm has passed through with a few strong wind gusts still in the forecast through early Friday morning. Most locations registered wind gusts between 30 and 50 mph with a few areas like Cherry Point (67 mph) and Jacksonville (58 mph) exceeding this range.

Storm surge was reported in Outer Banks Dare County around Manns Harbor. As of Thursday night, 1.5 to 2 feet of water was covering roads. Secondary roads were becoming impassable. Additionally, the water level reached 3.5 feet above normal with some water getting into homes around Kill Devil Hills.
