Trio facing robbery charges in Martin & Nash counties

D. Taylor / G. Taylor / Battle

NASH COUNTY, NC (WITN) - Two people from Rocky Mount and another from Greenville have been charged in connection with an armed robbery in one county, and an attempted robbery in another county.

Nash County deputies say George Taylor, of Rocky Mount, his brother, Deoantre Taylor, of Greenville, and Deidra Battle, of Rocky Mount, are facing charges for Monday's hold-up of the Kangaroo Express on Dortches Boulevard, outside of Rocky Mount.

Immediately after the robbery, deputies circulated security camera photos of the robbers to area law enforcement agencies.

During a search of a home on South Lee Street by Rocky Mount police and North Carolina Probation & Parole, some clothes believed to have been used in the hold-up were found. That led to the arrest of the Taylor brothers and Battle.

The two brothers were charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, while Battle was charged with aid and abet armed robbery.

Deputies also say the three were also charged in Martin County with an attempted armed robbery at the Speedway in Oak City.
