TowneBank Tower officially opens at ECU's Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium

Townebank Tower is now officially open at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium at ECU.

The ribbon-cutting was held Friday afternoon as university leaders embark on new and ambitious goals for ECU athletics.

Townebank Tower is part of a $60 million renovation to Dowdy-

Ficklen Stadium and surrounding facilities.

ECU Interim Chancellor Dan Gerlach, Head Football Coach Mike Houston, and Athletics Director Jon Gilbert were all in attendance Friday evening.

Gilbert said the addition of Townebank Tower will bring added excitement to the games.

He said, "It’s really exciting. I look at it as a transformation structure for this institution this athletic department and excited it is finally here."

The public can tour Townebank Tower and the Trade Club Level at 4 p.m. Saturday as part of the 25th Annual Meet the Pirates event at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium.
