WINDSOR, NC (WITN) - The Town of Windsor is celebrating its 250th anniversary this year with a huge weekend celebration November 10-12.
There will be a reading of the town's proclamation, amusement rides, several museums open for tours.
Here's a look at the weekend schedule:
Saturday, November 10:
9:30am - Opening Ceremony at Windsor Town Hall,
Singing of the National Anthem and Reading of Proclamation
10:00am - Amusement Rides Open.
-Old Homes self-guided tour, sign up at the Hope House
-Static display of Military Vehicles on King St.
-All museums will open: Russell's Back in the Day, Windsor Train Museum, Veterans Museum, Farmers and Craftsmans Museum
1:00pm - Carriage rides begin in front of Town Hall
6:00pm - Street Dance with the White Oak Band, on S. King St. across from Southern Bank
Sunday, November 11:
5pm - Choral Evensong with Schola Cantonum of the Diocese of East Carolina at St. Thomas Episcopal Church
Monday, November 12:
9am - Vendors and museums open, helicopter rides takeoff from Davis Park ($35)
10am - Old cars and military vehicles on display, King St.
1pm - Welcoming of dignitaries, comments from Miss North Carolina and retired military officers from Windsor
2:30pm - Parade
3:30pm - Cake-cutting and distribution
6pm - Fireworks at the river center
