Tax day lucrative for deputies as they seize over $1 million in black tar heroin

PITT COUNTY, NC (WITN) - Tax day was very lucrative for one Eastern Carolina sheriff's office with the seizure of more than $1 million in black tar heroin.

Pitt County deputies say on Monday they stopped a vehicle on North Memorial Drive and seized more than 4 kilos of the drug.

Two Texas men, 21-year-old Oswaldo Aceves Ovalle, and 19-year-old Daniel Aceves, were charged with felony trafficking heroin by possession, felony trafficking heroin by transportation, felony conspiracy to traffic heroin by possession, felony conspiracy to traffic heroin by transportation, and maintaining a vehicle for the sale of heroin.

Both men have been jailed on $2 million secured bonds and deputies seized their vehicle along with the heroin.
