TROOPERS: Woman charged with DWI after wrong-way crash on US 264

PITT COUNTY, NC (WITN) - A Beaufort County woman is facing multiple charges after troopers say she drove the wrong-way on U.S. 264 early Wednesday morning.

Kimberly Burroughs, 34, of Chocowinity, was charged with DWI and reckless driving.

The accident around 1:20 a.m. on U.S. 264, near the intersection of Sunnyside Road in Pitt County.

Troopers tell usBurroughs' car was traveling east in the westbound lanes of U.S. 264 when it crashed head-on with a truck heading the opposite direction, causing the truck overturn.

The other driver, 31-year-old Kendall Moore of WInterville, didn't appear to have any life-threatening injuries, according to the Highway Patrol.

Burrourghs was also taken to Vidant Medical Center.

The accident closed down the westbound lanes of 264 while clean-up was underway.
