Biggs says, “Few jobs have such great potential to make powerful change. Every day teachers have a chance to change the future one student at a time. I believe strongly that a classroom environment can have a powerful effect for students. The classroom environment is everything students see, hear and experience from the first moment they walk in the classroom door. Students will never forget a good teacher, no matter how old they become!
“Students teach me as much as I teach them daily. Students provide a lot of feedback for their teachers minute by minute based on their reactions and responses to the lesson. I am constantly learning how to change what I do to best meet their needs and make learning engaging!”
The person who nominated Biggs wrote, "is a remarkable teacher as she makes learning fun for ALL her students. She is able to connect with them personally, encourage them, and help them overcome their individual challenges. She is willing to listen to them and make each day a positive success for them. Her methods of allowing the students to be interactive while learning provides each child to contribute in different ways. The positive reinforcement she provides to each child makes them feel a sense of accomplishment and makes them want to strive to do better. The open line of communication between herself, the kids, and the parents is a great asset. As a parent, you truly see the passion she has for teaching and helping your child succeed. I'm sincerely thankful for the improvements I have seen in my son this year and know that she has had a huge part of his growth!"
