Greenville man charged with attempted murder makes first court appearance

A man who police say opened fire on a woman Sunday made his first appearance in court Monday morning.
Bernard Jones, 41, is charged with attempted first degree murder and assault with a deadly weapon.
Greenville police say he reportedly shot at a woman near the intersection of Tyson and West 3rd Street early Sunday morning. The woman wasn't hurt.
Officers searched for him throughout the afternoon, but he turned himself in around 4:45 p.m.
Bond was set at $1.5 million. Jones' next court date is June 8th.

Greenville police say they were called to the intersection of Tyson and West Third Street around 12:30 p.m. Sunday.
Police say they were told that a man reportedly shot at a woman. Police searched for him throughout the afternoon, and just around 4:45 p.m. he turned himself in.
The woman involved was not injured.
Police have charged Bernard Jones with assault with a deadly weapon in addition to attempted first degree murder. His bond is set at $1.5 million dollars.
