GREENVILLE, NC (WITN) A Greenville church was busy Wednesday serving up soup to benefit those in need.
St. Paul's Episcopal Church hosted its 6th Annual Stone Soup fundraiser with 17 local restaurants serving up their best recipes.
Each meal purchased will help fund food supplies for the church's food pantry, which feeds up to 600 people weekly.
Pottery was for sale as well, made by potters both locally and around the country.
A meal of soup, bread, salad and dessert was $8.00 or $25.00 with a purchase of a pottery soup bowl.
Organizer Suzanne Pecheles says the fundraiser has become a tradition during Holy Week.
Pecheles says, "Everybody is thinking about Easter and what time of year it is, so we thought this would be a great time to do this."
Volunteers served dinner at the church until 7:00 p.m.
