Shooting in Charlotte leaves two dead

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -- Police in North Carolina's largest city are investigating a shooting that left two people dead and a third wounded.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said in a news release that officers responded to a south Charlotte address after receiving a call shortly after 5 a.m. Saturday.

Police identified the dead victims as Janet Elizabeth Scronce,40, and Furahn Karren Woods Morrow, 39. One was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other was declared dead at Carolinas Medical Center. The department provided no information on the third person's condition.

Police were canvassing the area but say they aren't actively looking for additional suspects.
