Two wanted in connection with birthday party murder in Bertie County

BERTIE COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - Two men, one who deputies say is a gang member, are wanted for this weekend's murder at a birthday party.

Rayshon Carter was gunned down early Sunday during the party at the Merry Hill community building.

Bertie County Sheriff John Holley says murder warrants have been filed for Jashawn 'Southside' Brown, 29.

Investigators say Brown is a Bloods gang member and has prior convictions for violent crimes. They say Brown should be considered armed and dangerous.

Tywan 'Too-da-loo' Outlaw is wanted for being an accessory after the fact to the murder. He too should be considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information on the two wanted men, or who was at the party on Saturday, is urged to call the Bertie County Sheriff's Office at 252-794-5330.

One man has died after authorities say he was shot at a birthday party over the weekend.

Bertie County Sheriff John Holley says it happened at the community building in Merry Hill early Sunday morning.

Holley says adults were celebrating a birthday when a fight broke out and shots were fired.

The victim, who was shot multiple times, was airlifted to Vidant Medical Center where he later died. His name has not been released.

Sheriff Holley says no arrests have been made. The SBI is assisting in the investigation.
