WAYNE COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - A deputy with the Wayne County Sheriff's Office had to be given narcan after being exposed to drugs during an investigation.
According to the Wayne County Sheriff's Office, the deputy was removing drugs from the scene of the investigation on Doug Drive in Dudley when he had a medical emergency. The deputy was on the phone with a supervisor and gave his location so EMS could respond.
This deputy pulled over and other deputies responded to administer narcan. He was taken to Wayne UNC for evaluation and treatment.
The sheriff's office says the medical emergency was a result of being exposed to the drugs that were found at the home.
