Deputies say they have arrested a woman posing as a bail bondsman after they say she tried to smuggle drugs into the county jail.

Greene County Sheriff Lemmie Smith says it happened Friday.

The sheriff said deputies recognized Brittany Moore, 27, of Snow Hill, when they say she tried to bring Austin Herring narcotics.

The woman was charged with possession of methamphetamines, possession with intent to sell/deliver methamphetamines, possession of a controlled substance on jail/prison premises, possession of drug paraphernalia, and two counts of unlicensed bail bondsman/runner. She was given a $22,500 secured bond.

The 31-year-old Herring, who was an inmate at the jail, is now facing three counts of accessory after the fact and was given a $15,000 secured bond.

Both Moore and Herring have February 8th court dates.
