Rocky Mount homicide victim identified

ROCKY MOUNT, NC (WITN) - Police in one Eastern Carolina city have identified their latest homicide victim.

Rocky Mount police say 31-year-old Latisha Lee was found dead from an assault at a residence on Drew Hills Court Wednesday morning just before 11:00 a.m.

Police have not made any arrests in the murder, nor have they released any information on a suspect in the case.

This is the fifth homicide for Rocky Mount since New Years.

A homicide investigation is underway in Rocky Mount after a woman was assaulted and killed Wednesday on Drew Hills Court.

rocky Mount Police say EMS and police responded to Drew Hills Court and found an unresponsive woman.

Investigators say she had sustained injuries from an aggravated assault and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim's identity isn't being released at this time as they work to notify family. Rocky Mount's Homicide Unit is investigating and ask seeking additional information in the case.
