RALEIGH, NC (WITN) - A Rocky Mount man and woman will spend years in federal prison for robbing two jewelry stores.
Jaquin Pratt, 20, and Nikita Taylor, 26, had previously pleaded guilty in federal court to one count of interference with commerce.
The feds say back on November 27th, 2017, the two robbed Saslow's Jewelry in Wilson. After zip-tying the employees, the two made off with more than $25,000 in jewelry.
Eleven days later, the same thing happened at Swift's Fine Jewelry in Knightdale where they stole more than $30,000 worth of jewelry.
Pratt will have to serve ten years in federal prison, while Taylor was sentenced to just over seven years. Both will also be on supervised release for three years after getting out of prison.
