Rocky Mount looking for another new Assistant City Manager

Rocky Mount - The city of Rocky Mount is now searching for a new Assistant City Manager for the second time in almost three months.

Assistant City Manager Thomas Moton, Jr. has announced he is resigning his post with the city. Fellow Rocky Mount Assistant City Manager Tasha Logan-Ford announced her resignation late last December. She left to take a job as Assistant City Manager in Winston-Salem.

Moton, who also once served as Greenville's Assistant City Manager, joined Rocky Mount's staff in 2014. His last day on the job in Rocky Mount will be March 30.

During his time in Rocky Mount, Moton became known for working with neighborhood associations to address community and quality of life issues. He worked as Greenville's Assistant City Manager from 2006 - '12 and as the city's Interim City Manager after Wayne Bowers retired in 2012.
