Rocky Mount holding public meeting on Confederate monuments

An Eastern Carolina organization is hosting a public meeting Tuesday night regarding confederate monuments in public places.
The Rocky Mount Human Relations Commission will host the meeting from 6 p.m.- 8 p.m. at the Booker T. Theater in downtown Rocky Mount.
The city’s own monument at Battle Park, which has created a lot of discussion among residents in recent months, will be among the monuments discussed during the open session.
Another meeting will be held next Tuesday, July 24 during the same time frame.
The Rocky Mount City Council will receive a report on the meeting afterwards.
