'Derby Days' raising money for Rocking Horse Ranch

GREENVILLE, NC (WITN) - Rocking Horse Ranch's 15th annual Derby Dash Bash is happening on Saturday, May 5. The fundraising event celebrates the running of the Kentucky Derby while raising money for the therapeutic riding program here in Eastern Carolina.

There will be dinner, drinks, dessert, live music, a ladies derby hat contest, games a silent and a live auction and much more while guest view the running of the Kentucky Derby.

All proceeds from the event benfit the RHR operating fund. The ranch serves children and adults with a variety of physical, cognitive, and psychological disabilities through horse back riding lessons. The ultimate goal of the program is to improve each rider's quality of life so that they can become more independent, productive and active members of their community.

The Derby Dash Bash is being held at Rock Springs Center on Saturday, May 5.

A new event is kicking off Derby season in Eastern Carolina this year -- Derby Darlings!

Rocking Horse Ranch hosts its annual Derby Dash Bash each year to raise money for its operating fund. The ranch serves children and adults with physical, cognitive and psychological disabilities through horse back riding lessons. The ranch has a veterans program, a cancer survivor program and traditional lessons.

Derby Darlings is a 'hats off to horses!' hat social being held on Sunday, April 15.

There will be a fashion show featuring hats donated by local businesses with opportunities for attendees to bid on the hats.

Tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for children under the age of 18.

The event will be held from 2-5pm at the Plantation Greenville Country Club.
