Robeson County Sheriff keeps campaign promise, arrests three in community of focus
Three men have been arrested as the Robeson County Sheriff aims to crack down on drug and weapon-related activity.
Officials say at around 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, deputies performed a search at 32 McAllister Circle in the Springside community near Red Springs.
Authorities say multiple people ran into a wooded area near the residence upon their arrival.
During the search, authorities found two guns, an undisclosed amount of marijuana, and approximately $2,700 in cash.
The three men arrested include Hedrix Hasty Jr., 32, Derrick Murray, 34, and Ramon Campbell, 30, all of Red Springs. Hasty and Murray were charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Felon.
All three men were charged with Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver Marijuana, Maintaining a Drug Vehicle, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
During Sheriff Burnis Wilkins' campaign to become sheriff, he assured citizens in the Springside community that he would address their complaints of constant weapon violations and drugs in the area.
The Robeson County Sheriff's Office says that Drug Enforcement Division Investigators and SWAT aided in the search.
Hasty Jr. and Murray are being held at the Robeson County Detention Center under $60,000 bond.
Campbell is held at the same location under a $50,000 bond.
