HAVELOCK, NC (WITN) - Road work is set to continue on one Eastern Carolina highway, causing traffic concerns for the next four nights.
The eastbound lanes on U.S. 70 into Slocum Gate in Havelock will close starting at 8 p.m. Monday.
The closures will run from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night until Thursday.
Contractors will continue installing bridge girders for the new overpass into Slocum Gate at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point.
The work is part of a $24 Million project.
Detours for drivers will be posted. Slocum Gate and Slocum Road will be closed in the meantime.
