KINSTON, NC (WITN) - A driver has been charged after a major street in Kinston was closed for about an hour this morning after his car flipped over.
Hardee Road, just past Sedgefield Road, was shut down after the single-car accident around 7:00 a.m.
Police say Mikal Davis was heading north when he veered left of the center line, striking a mailbox and a utility pole. That caused his car to flip over, landing on its top.
A wheel was noticeably separated from the rest of the car.
The 22-year-old Kinston man was taken to UNC Lenoir Health Care as a precaution, police say.
Davis was charged with operating a vehicle left of center and operating a vehicle with unsafe tires.
