GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) A former CNN Hero nominee and pastor is set to speak at an annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day event.
Pastor of Conetoe Chapel Missionary Baptist Church and founder of Conetoe Family Life Center Reverend Richard Joyner will be this year's speaker at the 22nd annual Community Unity event in Greenville.
Rev. Joyner was among the top 10 nominees for CNN Hero in 2015.
The event is put on every year by the City of Greenville and the Greenville-Pitt County Chamber of Commerce. It's meant to celebrate diversity in the city and celebrate Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday.
Breakfast will be served at 7:30 a.m. followed by the keynote address from 8 a.m.- 9 a.m.
