Residents allowed back onto Frisco, Hatteras

HATTERAS, NC (WITN) - More parts of the Outer Banks will be accessible starting Thursday.

Kitty Hawk police say people will be allowed back onto Frisco and Hatteras starting at noon. Officers say some homes and businesses in Hatteras suffered significant damage, so they are asking for patience during the recovery process.

Fort Raleigh National Historic Site and the Wright Brothers National Memorial are both back open, as well.

Hurricane Dorian made landfall in Hatteras just after 8:30 am Friday, September 6.
