Eastern Carolina (WITN) - Another candidate,Republican Graham Boyd, talked about filing to run for the Third District Congressional seat, previously held by the late Walter Jones Junior.
Republican Graham Boyd formally announced Monday, he is running in the Third District special election.
Boyd is a farmer and a leader of two major state agriculture groups.
He says, he plans to be a strong voice for the needs of families in the district.
He is among many candidates in the race for the Third District seat.
There are 26 total candidates in the running, 17 Republicans, six Democrats and two Libertarians.
The primary election for the District 3 seat is April 30th.
If a runoff is not needed, the General Election will take place July 9th. If a runoff happens, the General Election will be September 10th.
