Raccoon tests positive for rabies in Beaufort County

BEAUFORT COUNTY, NC (WITN) Authorities in Beaufort County say a raccoon tested positive for rabies this past weekend.

Beaufort County Animal Control said they picked up the animal just east of Washington off of Braddy Road.

They are urging everyone to have all of their pets vaccinations up to date.

All dogs, cats, and ferrets older than four months are required to have the rabies vaccine.
