GOLDSBORO, N.C. (WITN) - Efforts continue across the nation, including here in the east, to fight the stigma around drug overdoses.

The Coalition for Addiction and Life Management will observe International Overdose Awareness Day on Thursday in Wayne County.

The event is to raise awareness on drug abuse and the stigma that comes with it. Organizers say it is also meant to show support to those who have lost loved ones to drug abuse and for those struggling with addiction today.

The event is happening at 5 p.m. on the steps of Goldsboro City Hall.
