HAVELOCK, NC (WITN) - State transportation officials are looking for your feedback on a proposed highway project.
D.O.T workers are hosting a public meeting tonight to get feedback on their proposal to upgrade a section of U.S. 70 in Havelock.
The proposed project would make the highway up to interstate standards between Thurman Road and the Havelock Bypass.
Transportation officials say the improvements will help with safety, regional mobility and economic growth in the east.
You can let them know your thoughts at the feedback meeting at Tucker Creek Middle School in Havelock.
Anyone can stop by anytime between 5 and 7 p.m. to learn more about the proposal, have questions answered and talk with representatives.
Written comments can also be submitted by phone, email or mail through July 2.
