No charges against Wilson man who killed intruder

Police say there will be no charges brought against a man who shot and killed an intruder early Monday morning.
Wilson police have identified the dead man as 36-year-old Haciel Vasquez of Wilson.
Police say it happened at 1907 Winoca Road 1:15 a.m. Monday.
When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds outside the home.
Sgt. Steve Stroud says the homeowner told police he heard someone trying to kick in the door to his house. He told police he warned the intruder to stop before firing shots through the door.
After consulting with the District Attorney's Office, police say no charges will be filed against the homeowner.

The Wilson Police Department says officers responded to the 1900 block Winoca Road for a reported burglary in progress around 1:15 a.m. Monday.
