Police asking for information on armed robbery in Elizabeth City

ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. (WITN) - Around 9 p.m. Saturday night, Elizabeth City police responded to the Circle D convenience store on North Road Street in reference to an armed robbery.

According to a press release, a suspect entered the store with a hand gun, jumped the counter and took cash from the register.

The suspect is described as a black male wearing a black hoodie, black jeans and black shoes at the time. His face was covered during the robbery.

After arriving, officers found three store employees who weren't harmed.
